The Hapu fern or 'Hawaiian Tree Fern' is a richly detailed fern that is indigenous to the Hawaiian islands. My own Hapu provides great shade for my orchids as many do for other plants in the islands. The Hapu grows especially well in the rainier areas of Maui and is host to many smaller plants which are caught as seedlings by the fibers of this ferns stalk. This plant is sensitive yet hardy. The Hapu fern earrings are earthy in appearance and go well with earth toned summer dresses and sandals.
